Processing
Thermo Mechanically Treated (TMT) bar is one of the most common reinforcing bars used in the construction of homes, multi-story buildings, bridges, flyovers, and other civil engineering projects. It is renowned for its superior tensile strength, ductility, and longevity. TMT bars are the most secure solution for building because of their high level of seismic resistance. Thermo Mechanical Treatment is the name of the procedure used to create TMT bars. An essential input in this procedure is iron scrap. The iron scrap is melted in an electric furnace and then shaped into rectangular billets using a casting machine. To get the appropriate size and form, these Billets are now subjected to different rolling and polishing procedures above the recrystallization temperature. Hot rolling is the name of this procedure.

The letter Fe stands for iron in TMT bar grade Fe 500, while the number 500 represents its minimum yield strength in N/mm2. This type of TMT bar is corrosion-resistant and ideally suited for the construction of multi-story and commercial structures.
Mechanical characteristics of Fe 500 TMT bar:
They have a
-500N/mm2 yield strength
-545N/mm2 ultimate tensile strength
-12 elongation
-1.09 YS ratio.
The number "500" in the Fe 500 & FE 500D TMT Bar denotes the minimum yield stress in MPa. Compared to other grades of TMT Bar, FE 500D has a higher percentage of elongation.
The top TMT Bar should be able to resist corrosion, absorb excess energy during earthquakes, and protect buildings from fire.
The top TMT Bar should be able to resist corrosion, absorb excess energy during earthquakes, and protect buildings from fire.
It contains the amount of 0.25% of carbon, 0.04% of sulfur, 0.04% of phosphorus,
0.075% of sulphur+ phosphorus.
In the TMT bar grade Fe 550D, the letters Fe stand for manufactured of iron, the number 550 represents their minimum yield strength in N/mm2, and the letter D represents greater bar ductility. The largest industrial building projects are the greatest candidates for this grade of TMT bar. It works best when used in an earthquake-prone location.
The yield strength (FY) of TMT bar grade Fe550D is 550N/mm2, while the ultimate tensile strength (fu) is 585N/mm2, and the elongation is 16.
The construction of huge subterranean structures and large-scale projects like bridges are best suited for this grade of TMT bar. They have yield strength of 550 N/mm2, an ultimate tensile strength of 585 N/mm2, an elongation of 10, a YS ratio of 1, and a tensile strength ratio.
We deliver as per the Bureau of Indian Standards
Depending on the style of the construction, picking the appropriate grade is crucial. The designer chooses the suitable grade of TMT bar during the structural design of the construction based on material availability and economic factors. The most used TMT bar/steel grades are Fe500, Fe 500D, Fe550, and Fe550D which offer enough strength for the majority of reinforced concrete applications.
MECHANICAL PROPERTIES
A combination of strength and ductility produced by MaXXon TMT Bar’s distinctive manufacturing procedures exceeds the minimum limit stipulated in the standard IS: 1786 certification. Although the standard calls for minimum yield strength of 500 N/mm2 for Fe500 grade, we manufacture at a minimum of 540 N/mm2. Additionally, our product’s normal ductility value, as determined by elongation, is 18 percent minimum, as opposed to the industry standard of 12 percent. As a result, our goods have outstanding strength and ductility properties. The ability to withstand the pressure of an earthquake is reflected by the UTS/YS ratio and percentage of elongation.
